With over 50 years of experience, Thames River Sightseeing is one of the longest running Westminster to Greenwich river boat cruises. All our crew members are experienced boatmen, some with family connections to the River Thames going back generations.
TRS was created when a group of independent party boat owners joined forces to start a sightseeing company. In the daytime, tourists can enjoy sightseeing trips on the river, and in the evening groups of party-goers can hire boats for parties and corporate events.
We have just undergone a major rebrand that has seen the amalgamation of our two services to become the new Thames River Sightseeing brand. Our routes are the same, but the names have changed so we can make a bigger impact!
With two different routes, you can explore London the way you want to. Take advantage of our hop-on hop-off Pink Route which gives you the choice of seeing many of London’s best tourist attractions along the South Bank, and the ability to visit the ones you’re most interested in.
The Pink Route is a hop-on hop-off service taking a circular cruise between Westminster Pier and St Katharine’s Pier, calling at Embankment Pier, Festival Pier, and Bankside Pier, returning to Westminster non-stop. Along the route, you’ll get great views of some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, the Globe Theatre, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.
Our Blue Route takes sightseers from Westminster Pier and St Katharine’s Pier all the way to Greenwich Pier. You will see all the sights of the South Bank as well as Canary Wharf. And when you’re in Greenwich, you could easily spend more than a day exploring attractions like the Cutty Sark, Greenwich Market, the National Maritime Museum, the Old Royal Naval College, or take a walk in Greenwich Park where you can also visit the Royal Observatory, home to Greenwich Meantime and the Meridian Line.
In the summer months, you can also stay onboard for an extra sightseeing cruise to get close to the incredible feat of engineering that is the Thames Barrier. We are the only sightseeing cruise company with a licence to visit the barrier, so you can find out more about it from our commentary, and get a great close-up view.
While you’re onboard any of our boats, you can settle back and enjoy the entertaining and sometimes hilarious live commentary from the crew members, or opt to listen to the multilingual audio commentary on your smartphone.
As we operate our services all year round, you can rest assured that our boats have outdoor viewing decks as well as heated lounges with panoramic windows. Come rain, come shine, you will be able to relax and watch the world go by in comfort.
