A romantic day out in London

Inspiring views

There are plenty of ways you can get up high to enjoy stunning views of London – beauty tends to inspire romance, so take advantage of the many ways you can enjoy both the scenery and each other. The Shard is probably the highest you’ll get with viewing platforms up to the 72nd floor! Slightly closer to the ground, there’s the London Eye, the walkway on Tower Bridge, or go for a drink at the Sky Gardens. If you’re looking for something a bit different, and you’re both feeling fit, go for a stroll… over the top of the 02!

A romantic day in Greenwich

Greenwich is a great place for a romantic day out? There are lots of places of historic interest to visit, such as the Cutty Sark or the Royal Observatory, and plenty of beautiful parkland to walk in. Greenwich is full of independent restaurants, so it won’t matter if you’re in the mood for a gourmet meal or pie and mash, you won’t break the mood.

For a truly romantic gesture, indulge in the Champagne & Fromage cruise run by our sister company, Thames River Services. The package includes boat travel from Westminster Pier to Greenwich, followed by fizz and a selection of fine cheeses at an artisan restaurant in Greenwich itself.

Theatre

Every day, thousands of people flock to London to see theatrical shows, musicals and concerts. Check the listings to see what’s on when you’re planning to visit. Alternatively, if you’re watching the budget and don’t mind what you see, turn up at the Leicester Square Ticket Booth on the day for discounted last-minute tickets.

A romantic meal

There are literally thousands of restaurants in London catering for all tastes and budgets. What better way to end a lovely day than with a lovely meal. If you want to book a table but don’t know where to start, check the TripAdvisor reviews for suggestions in your price range. Alternatively, just wander around areas such as Covent Garden, Chinatown, the South Bank and Soho to look for just the right place!
