30 May 2018 — Thames River Sightseeing
There are many kid-friendly places to go to in London, and four of them are just over the river from where you can board our boats at Westminster Pier!
If your kids are fans of green ogres and wise-cracking donkeys, Shrek’s Adventure! London will be right up their street. It’s an immersive journey through Far Far Away where they’ll visit the Swamp, meet Cinderella, take part in a game show, and have to find their way through the Mirror Maze. Best for kids aged 6-12, though younger and older children may enjoy it too.
Not for the squeamish or faint-hearted, but the London Dungeon is jolly good fun as you scream your way around the bad old days to watch the live action shows, and meet some of history’s most unpleasant characters.
The London Eye has been a ’must-do’ London activity since the Millennium, and is now as familiar a sight on the London skyline as Tower Bridge. You’ll get amazing views of the river, the city and the nearby Houses of Parliament as the wheel moves you slowly round.
Check out the savings you can make buying passes for 2 or more of these attractions in advance from Merlin Attractions, the owner of London Eye, Shrek’s Adventure, and the London Dungeon.
Or you could visit HMS Belfast – nearest pier, Tower Bridge Quay. This historical museum has interactive exhibits which show what life was like for the Navy during the Second World War. It also puts on special events, especially in school holidays, so check the website’s What’s On guide to find out more.
And if your kids are tired after that activity, calm them down with a lovely boat trip along the River Thames, taking in some of the sights at a slower place. Click here to book your Circular Cruise tickets in advance.
